Andy Warhol-themed Restaurant and Speakeasy Opens in Gramercy

Step back in time at The Factory 380 in Gramercy. The new restaurant (with a hidden speakeasy lounge) is a throwback to the 1970s and pays homage to Andy Warhol’s pop art era.

Located at 380 Third Ave. in Gramercy, the restaurant’s name references its current location and Warhol’s studio, nicknamed “The Factory.” A collage of Warhol photographs welcome guests, along with graffiti art, including the artist’s iconic quote, “But I always say, one’s company, two’s a crowd, and three’s a party.”

Executive chef Javier Alvarez serves tapas and plates inspired by different parts of NYC, including pork dumplings and lamb barbacoa tacos and, for dessert, Coney Island nuts. There is also his take on the classic “TV Dinner,” involving a roasted Cornish hen.

The cocktails have clever names like The Camera Adds 10lbs (gin, St. Germain, lemon, simple, cucumber, mint) and I Wish I Could Paint Our Love (Blanco tequila, watermelon juice, lime, agave, chili bitters).

Don’t miss the hidden Studio 54-inspired speakeasy named Edie’s. Reservations for Edie’s are made on a first-come, first-served basis by dialing a special daily number on a rotary phone in the back of the restaurant. The hidden bar pays homage to actress and fashion model Edie Sedgwick, perhaps best known for being Warhol’s muse.

Those who have experienced The Factory 380 are raving about the new hot spot on Yelp.

“Love this place! Spacious and the bartenders are so friendly and amazing! Also, try the speakeasy in the back. He makes the most delicious cocktails! This is my go-to spot for sure.” wrote Michelle K.

Steve W wrote: “What a great addition to the neighborhood… The eggplant and the burrata were big hits, and I can't wait to come back for the lamb Tacos. Hit this place up, and you will be happy for the experience!”
