‘Tis the season for holiday pop-ups. For the fifth year in a row, East Village cocktail bar Mace is transforming into a holiday-themed cocktail bar with over-the-top Christmas decorations, classic songs, and cleverly-themed drinks.
Temporarily named Miracle on 9th Street, the kitschy pop-up will serve concoctions like Partridge in a Pear Tree (tequila, pear brandy and mezcal, and Christmas Carol Barrel), Run Run Rudolph (Blanco tequila, coffee liqueur, iced hot chocolate and Mexican spices) and Bad Santa (mulled red wine, tawny port, orange liqueur, spices and golden raisins.)
“Miracle is a Christmas-themed pop-up cocktail bar that serves holiday cocktails in a festive setting. With kitschy holiday décor, professionally-developed cocktails and the nostalgic energy of the best office party you’ve ever been to, Miracle is sure to get even the grouchiest Grinch in the holiday spirit,” the Mace website explains.
Miracle on 9th Street was concieved in 2014, after the owner's mom suggested opening a Christmas pop-up cocktail bar in the space during the holidays. That's all it took. Boehm was all in, and it proved to be a success. “Miracle” is now a worldwide phenomenon with holiday pop-ups around the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, and Central America.
Join the festivities at Mace, the original Christmas Pop-up bar, located at 649 E. 9th St.
Nov. 23-Dec. 31, 2018
