Cecile McLorin Salvant and the Aaron Diehl Trio

Celebrate 2016's exit and the start of a new year with some jazz at Dizzy's Club. Grammy winner Cecile McLorin Salvant will be performing from her repertoire of original music and timeless classics; she will be accompanied by the Aaron Diehl Trio. Tickets are $250 with a three-course menu included in the price. A midnight champagne toast is included as well. Dizzy's club is located on Broadway and 6th, on the 5th Floor.

 Fireworks at Prospect Park

Do you want a traditional New Year's Eve celebration? If so, Prospect Park in Brooklyn is the place to be on New Year’s Eve. You can enjoy live music along with free hot cocoa and fireworks. You will get the best views of the fireworks from Grand Army Plaza and from inside the park on West Drive. Grand Army Plaza is located on Flatbush Avenue and Eastern Parkway.  Fireworks at Prospect Park will start at 11PM on December 31.

 Annaleigh Ashford's New Year's Magic!

You can have a magical start to 2017 with a show that offers you multiple forms of entertainment. Watch Annaleigh Ashford and the Whiskey 5 perform at Feinstein's 54 Below and enjoy music, stories and magic tricks. Tony Award Winner Ashford along with Will Van Dyke will be performing of some their favorites from Lost in the Stars. Once the New Year rolls around, you will be able to enjoy a great dance party as the staff at Feinstein's 54 Below will be taking away the tables and chairs and setting up a dance floor. The cost will be $325 and $350 and VIP seating is $420. Feinstein's/54 Below is located at 254 W 54th St Cellar. Start times are 11 PM and 9 PM.

 New Year's Eve Family Cruise

One way to enjoy the New York's New Year spectacles is on the water. The New Year’s Eve Family cruise takes you out into New York Harbor, where you will be able to see the breathtaking fireworks displays that make the city a year-end destination. The cost is $199 per adult and $169 for children under 12. The price includes hors d' oeuvres and a buffet dinner with dessert. There will also be a cash bar on board. Boat 1 has already sold out, but boat 2 will be departing at 9:20 PM and you are expected to check in by 8:50 PM. The boat will depart from Pier 16 at 89 South Street.

 New York Road Runners (NYRR) Midnight Run

The NYRR will be celebrating the birth of 2017 with their annual Midnight Run. In addition to the run itself, there will be music and dancing. The festivities begin at 10 PM and will culminate in a four-mile run, which will start at 11:59 PM. For runners who are not members of the NYRR, the entry cost will be $65 if they enter on the day of the event and $60 if they enter on December 30 or before. The race will take place on the inner loop in Central Park and will start and end on the 72nd St Transverse near Bethesda Terrace.

Annual New Year's Eve Bike Ride & Outdoor After Party

If you are a cyclist or skater, you can start the New Year off outdoors in Washington Square Park under the arch, just steps from Union Square. You will be riding to Belvedere Castle for a free New Year's Eve dance party. Bring food and drinks to share and dress for the festivities. If you are not interested in the ride, just join everyone at Belvedere Castle at 11:45 PM.
