About SLT (Strengthen Lengthen Tone)

SLT was founded in 2011 by Duke University and Harvard Business School graduate Amanda Freeman. As health and diet have become more important to people the need for effective fitness studios has also increased. SLT’s workouts are based on a unique combination of Pilates, strength training, and cardio. This 50 minute exercise burns fat, builds muscle, and promotes a lean physique. SLT’s approach was new to the NYC market and since opening has expanded to 9 fitness studios in the greater New York area.  

Workouts

The workouts at SLT are based on the Megaformer workout plan a full body complete workout system. SLT offers the following workouts at accommodate you no matter what your health or experience level.

  • Intro To The Amazing Megaformer: is a great starting point if you are new to the Megaformer workout program. It contains all of the exercises found in the traditional Megaformer program but taught at a slower more instructive pace so you can learn proper workout methods. Despite being a beginning course you will still receive a good workout as you learn.

  • Megaformer: is the core training methodology at SLT. This complete full body workout burns 700 calories a session and is taught in a small class setting. A combination of cardio, strength, and Pilates training these classes are lead by an experienced trainer.

  • Hardcore: once you have become experienced in Megaformer training the hardcore session offers you a more advanced workout. These 50 or 65 minute classes are only for the experienced and push your fitness to a higher level.

  • Private Sessions: many people prefer private courses. There are many reasons such as asking direct questions, improving form, working at your own pace, and trying out new techniques. Small group private sessions are also available if you want to work out with your friends.

Instructors

Often a workout program is only as good as the person teaching it. Trainers at SLT come from a wide variety of places and each brings their own experiences to their training programs. One thing they all share in common is dedication to training, knowledge of the SLT program, and the ability to help you get the workout you need to feel your best.  

Pricing

SLT offers several different pricing packages to fit your workout needs and price point. At the NYC location pricing is are as follows: a $20 first time class special so you can try it out and $40 for a single classes. If you are looking for a session package these are available at the following prices with cash, check, and major credit cards accepted:

  • Five sessions for $190

  • Ten sessions for $360

  • Twenty sessions for $680

  • Forty sessions for $1280

  • Utility session packages are also available for $375 per month.

  • The VIP add on package is also available at a cost of $150 per month.
