About The Beauty & Essex

The Beauty & Essex offers a unique dining experience from the moment you walk in. The interior design is one of a kind and modeled after a high end pawn shop with items such as musical instruments, electronics, and custom jewelry lining the display. Not only are these items nice to look at but the majority of them are also for sale. The restaurant proper offers four dining areas, two bars, a lounge, and a salon area for relaxation. The Beauty & Essex is a joint effort between the Tao Group and famous celebrity Chef Chris Santos.    


The menu at Beauty & Essex aside from containing traditional entrees also offers dishes based on the popular culinary trend of share plate dining where multiple people eat off of a single plate.

  • Dinner: the diner menu offers such selection as a raw bar with tartare, ceviche, sashimi, carpaccio, oyster, and clam dishes. Toast dishes with savory toppings such as garlic and crispy chicken skin, aioli, crab, and callouts are also available. Share plates offer an assortment of foods such as salads, stuffed peppers, empanadas, fried shrimp, tacos, and chicken mole among others. Single entree dishes include spaghetti, chicken meatballs, ravioli, braised short ribs, grilled salmon, hamburgers, lamb chops, a thick cut file, a 24 oz. bone in ribeye, and more. Sides include fries, onion rings, fresh vegetables, and mac and cheese with lobster. For dessert you can enjoy cider, cupcakes, cheese cake, devil’s food layer cake, fresh ice cream, and other sweets.            

  • Brunch: the brunch menu offers lighter breakfast fare such as beignets, croissants, pancakes, and waffles. Toast dishes include many of the dinner offerings along with egg dishes such as eggs benedict. The share dishes from dinner are also included along with more breakfast fare such as a bagels and lox pizzetta. Entrees offered include chicken biscuit bites, BLTs, eggs & grits, chicken fried steak, and steak and eggs being served. Sides include bacon, grits, fries, hash, and biscuits. The dessert menu is much the same as dinner with similar offerings.      

  • Cocktails: Beauty & Essex offers a cocktail menu including a wide assortment of cocktails in savory, sweet, and barrel ages blends. Drinks include mixes of the finest spirits with fresh vegetable and fruit juices with some drinks using ingredients such as syrup or mint. 

  • Wine: is offered by the glass or by the bottle. The wine selection includes red, sparkling, rose, and white wines. This assortment is from countries such as Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Australia, and also new world wines.


The Beauty & Essex is open seven days a week with varying hours for dinner and brunch dining. Dinner services are open from 5:00 pm to 12:00 am on Sunday through Wednesday and 5:00 pm to 1:00 am on Thursday through Saturday. Brunch services are weekend only at 11:30 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Also the Sunday Champagne Party Brunch is a weekly event occurring every Sunday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
