Restaurant Spotlight: Burger & Lobster

Have you ever tried to find a place to eat with a friend, family member or special someone where you just couldn't decide on what to eat? Maybe one of you wanted seafood, while the other wanted a burger? Well, you can both get what you want by heading over to Burger & Lobster, which is located on West 19th Street only a mile or so away from our Stuyvesant Town community.

About Burger & Lobster

Burger & Lobster is an international restaurant that has locations all across the world. Their New York location is the only Burger & Lobster in the U.S. at the moment, located in the Flatiron district. They originally hail from the United Kingdom, where they have locations in London, Manchester, Bath and Cardiff. They also currently have locations in Sweden and Dubai. They are open seven days a week from 12:00 PM to late at night, usually either 10:00 PM, 11:00 PM or 12:00 AM. They can seat 350 visitors at a time. Although they take reservations for parties with ten or more people and they do hold events and offer private rooms for hire, they do not take any other types of reservations.

The Food and Drinks at Burger & Lobster

One of the most unique things about Burger & Lobster is that you won't spend hours pouring over the menu fretting about what to get. The only question you need to ask yourself is whether you're in the mood for a burger or for a lobster. Why? Because those are the only options. In fact, there's no menu. There are four main ways that you can order. You can order a burger. You can order a lobster. You can order a lobster roll. Or, last but not least, you can order a combo that includes two burgers and a lobster. Every item is $20, except for the combo, which is $60. Considering how limited the menu is, their food has to be good - and it is.

  • The Burger - The beef used for the burgers at their New York location is some of the most flavorful beef you can get in the U.S. This is because the beef is sourced from corn-fed cows roaming the rolling hills of Nebraska. The burgers are only made using three cuts of steak that contain natural marbling. The marbling is what adds the succulent flavor, which means that nothing else has to be added - and nothing else is added.

  • The Lobster - In order to get the best lobster available, Burger & Lobster flies its lobsters down from Nova Scotia, Canada alive and well. In order to keep them fresh, they have built some of the biggest lobster tanks in the restaurant industry. Additionally, the lobsters come from Nova Scotia fishermen that have been fishing for lobsters for generations.

  • The Lobster Roll - The lobster roll is served cold on a toasted brioche bun dressed with Japanese mayo. The brioche comes from their own recipe, which they bake every day in the morning to ensure that it is fresh.

Whether you order a burger or a lobster, it will be accompanied with a salad or a side of fries. And no, there are no vegetarian options - there's only beef and lobster here. As far as drinks go, Burger & Lobster serves its very own Six Point brew, which was created by Six Point specifically for Burger & Lobster.

Burger & Lobster is one of the most unique restaurants in the city and is one of the best places to fill your craving for burger or lobster. For more information about restaurants in the area, be sure to contact us at our Stuyvesant Town community today.
