The Shake Shack’s History

The Shake Shack in 2001 as a hot dog cart located at Madison Square Park. Originally opened to provide food to visitors of the park conservancy’s first ever art exhibition the original Shake Shack proved to be a great success with customers. After three successful years the first Shake Shack kiosk opened in 2004. With its Madison Square Park location the Shack now had a more permanent home location. Menu And Hours

The Shake Shack at Madison Square Park in the Flatiron District has a full menu offering a wide selection of entrees, side dishes, drinks, and desserts. The Shake Shack is open seven days a week from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm. The menu is as follows:

  • The Shack’s hamburgers are all made of 100 percent all natural Angus beef and available in both single and double hamburgers. Variations include a classic hamburger, smoked bacon, mushroom, combinations, and special sauces.

  • Aside from hamburgers the Shack also offers 100 percent all natural chicken sandwiches, and beef and chicken hotdogs.       

  • Side dishes include french fries and cheese fries.

  • Deserts include shakes, floats, ice cream cones and cups, and custards that you can customize to fit your tastes. The Shake Shack is especially well known for their shakes which are centered by many food reviews to be among the best in the industry.

  • For drinks you have a choice of lemonade, iced tea, an iced tea, lemonade blend, sodas, ice brewed coffee, apple juice, and water. For something stronger red and white wines are available in addition to the Shake Shack’s own in house bottled ale.

  • Lastly, for dog owners dog biscuits and treats are available.
