When you are looking for a refined business casual dining experience The House should be on your list of restaurants to consider. Located in the Gramercy Park Historic District The House has a scene of historical elegance and is located inside a carriage house built in the Early Romanesque Revival style in 1854 and masterfully restored. The menu is popular American cuisine accompanied by a full menu of wines and spirits.

The House is open seven days a week with the following schedule. Lunch hours are on Tuesday through Friday at 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm, Dinner hours are on Sunday through Thursday from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and weekend brunches are available from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm. Also The House is open from 5:00 pm to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays for late night outings.     

The Menu

Brunch: is breakfast time for many and the brunch menu includes several popular breakfast foods along with heartier offerings. For appetizers yogurt, pea soups, tuna, deviled eggs, cheeses, and charred octopus are just some choices. Salad options are lettuce and endive and the Little Gem Lettuce which also blends peach and cashews. Sandwiches include The House Burger, a lobster club, and a breakfast panino. Entrees include Breakfast Flatbread, The House Benedict, Vanilla and Rum Soaked Brioche French Toast, Short Rib Hash, Belgian Waffles, and Anson Mills Cheddar Grits.       

Lunch: is a lighter meal and this is reflected in the menu. Appetizers such as pea soup, tuna dishes, burrata, deviled eggs, and cheeses reflect this. Salads include a lecture and endive salad, red quinoa, and the farro tabbouleh. Sandwich choices included a BLT, lobster club, or The House Burger. Entrees include Baked Clams Flatbread, Truffled Mac & Cheese, Grilled Organic Chicken Paillard, farro, and spaghetti. Sides are also available.      

Dinner: the dinner menu offers appetizers such as soups, oysters, cheeses, breads, and seafoods. Salads available include lettuce, fennel, and a peach and cashew blend. Entrees are varied and include dishes such as Striped Bass, Chatham Cod, Long Island Duck, Hudson Valley Pastured Chicken, Lasagna, The House Burger, and a Black Angus NY Strip Steak. Vegetable sides are also available.   

Tea Time: available in the afternoon this special menu is available for $50 per person and serves as a light tea time snack that includes a full pot of tea, a sandwich, scone, and desert.

Deserts: cover a broad selection of foods and dessert wines. Deserts include classics such as fudge brownie sundaes, apple gallette, cheesecake, mousse, creme brulee, and cheeses. Dessert wines from France, Italy, and Australia are available along with scotches, cognacs, and other fine spirits.  

Wines And Spirits: the menu includes wines available by the glass or bottle and has a wide selection of cocktails, red wines, sparkling wines, white wines, rose wines, beers, ports, and as noted above dessert wines.

Special Events

The House is perfect for special one of a kind events and celebrations such as weddings or receptions. Private cocktail parties can seat as many as 60 guests, the first floor parlor can seat up a cocktail party of up to 30 guests, and the second floor gallery can seat a dinner of up to 30. The Chef’s Table in the wine cellar can sit up to 18. Amenities include WiFi, a fireplace, and television entertainment.
