Introducing The Fhitting Room Flatiron: A boutique-style workout studio with a wide array of high intensity, uber-exhilarating classes in which personal attention, in both individual and group trainings is fundamental...and one of the reason it has achieved such incredible popularity and success.  Located at 31 West 19th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues, it’s less than a brisk, 20-minute walk from the StuyTown community.


The Fhitting Room’s overall philosophy is simple and unique.  FHIX (which stands for Functional High Intensity Mix) is the brainchild of owner Kari Saitowitz.  The former marketing executive was introduced to High Intensity Training (HIT) after giving birth to her first son.  Initially drawn to the workout by a desire to shed her pregnancy weight, Kari soon became a ‘true believer’ and one of its biggest champions.  Armed with an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Economics from The Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, she opened the first Fhitting Room Penthouse on the Upper East Side, quickly followed by the second Flatiron location, launched in February of 2016.


The FHIX’s comprehensive system works by combining the five cardinal elements of fitness – functional training, strength, high intensity intervals, total body focus and highly varied exercises – to bring about complete body-changing results.

This creative approach is led by a dynamic team of expert trainers and instructors devoted to delivering on FHIX’s promise: To transform every body, mind and soul with a vigorous, inspirational and motivating regime.


The Fhitting Room Flatiron is open Monday through Fridays from 6:00 am to 8:30 pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  The extensive list of classes ensures there will likely to be a session that fits into your busiest, hectic schedule.  What’s more, because the workouts require all-out performance in a short period of time, your body’s metabolism actually continues to burn fat for up to 48 hours following your interval training.  This means you can invest less time at the gym while gaining greater results than with most conventional exercise programs.


The expansive flagship facility features two studios containing the most state-of-the-art equipment and tools, including battle ropes, kettlebells, monkey bars, and SkiErgs.  The Flatiron location adds bright locker rooms with industrial-chic showers and vanity stations, as well as a bright green-accented retail area.
