The Movement is a fitness studio focused on providing the best group classes available in a supportive environment while building a sense of community. The Movement is located in the Flatiron District of Manhattan. An example of their community outreach is regular donations to the National Brain Tumor Society. They offer several different classes focused on a wide range of health goals and needs. See below for an overview of their courses, schedule, and membership rates.  

Classes

The Movement offers several different classes to meet a variety of exercise goals. They specialize in group training with simi-private and private one on one courses also being available The offered courses include the following:

  • CrossFlowX: is a a high energy workout class combining core training, strength training, cardio, and yoga to give you an energetic workout backed by music and a focus on positive goals.

  • the class: taught by Taryn Toomey the class is a true full body workout that not only encourages physical health but mental and emotional health as well. Cardio and aerobic exercises build a stronger body and therapeutic training builds a stronger mind.

  • MOVE: much like the name focuses on movement and cardio health. MOVE is a dance class that also uses body sculpting techniques to encourage a healthy and lean build. MOVE is split into two different parts, 30 minutes of dance and 30 minutes of body sculpting. No previous dancing experience required.

  • POWERED: is strength training combined with a focus on optimizing physical performance and mental clarity. The POWERED class will not only increase your strength but also clear your mind.

  • ReXist360 HIIT: resistance training builds cardio and muscle health. ReXist360 HIIT is a 45 minute course split into upper and lower body workouts to give you a complete workout of all major muscle groups.

  • SHRINK Session: is a combination of cardio and positive thinking. The cardio aspect combines yoga, kick boxing, and dance for an intense cardio workout. The mental aspect is positive phraseology and mantras. An improved self image is one of the most important parts of an effective exercise program.    

  • YogaCHARGED: is a combination course that combines resistance yoga and functional strength training. These classes build your core strength and physique while at the same time focusing on mental clarity. YogaCHARGED is a challenging course acceptable for all levels of fitness.    

  • One On One Classes: The Movement also offers one on one training in addition to group training. If you have specific goals or needs The Movement’s trainers can customize a plan to fit your specific fitness goals.

Schedule

The Movement is open seven days a week with various class times occurring throughout the day. The hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday hours are from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Class time varies with the earliest classes start at 7:00 am with later classes starting at 8:30 pm. 

Rates

The Movement offers classes in several different packages to fit your training needs. For new members two classes are available for $26 and a single class costs $26. Class packages are available in packs of 5 for $120, 10 for $220, and 20 for $400. Unlimited class passes are normally $199 but as of this writing are currently on sale for $100.
