  1. Bald Mountain: Located in Old Forge, visitors to Bald Mountain enjoy an exhilarating 30 to 40-minute hike that offers a great view at the end. This is an easier hike, it ideal if you are an inexperienced hiker or have children you want to climb with. A jacket is recommended during cooler weather.

  2. Mirror Lake: Suitably located in Lake Placid this is one of the top sites in the Adirondacks for visitors. The lake itself is noted for its beauty and can be enjoyed not only as a stunning sight but also as home to several restaurants and outdoor sports such as kayaking, wakeboarding, and canoeing.    

  3. Wild Center: Located at 45 Museum Dr, Tupper Lake, NY the Wild Center is an outdoor education center that offers displays and exhibits at the local wildlife in the Adirondacks. Aside from indoor displays much of the center is outdoors with elevated walkways and displays such as an eagle’s nest.

  4. Olympic Ski Jump Complex: Another of Lake Placid’s sights is the Olympic Ski Jump Complex , a great place to learn about Olympic ski jumping and watch the athletes practice their craft. When visiting be sure to take the elevator to the top of the ski jump platform to truly appreciate the distance of these types of jumps.

  5. The Enchanted Forest Water Safari:  Located in Old Forge is a well-maintained water park offering amenities such as slides, raft rides, and river floats. They also have train rides and daily circus performances as well.   

  6. Mount Jo: Located in Lake Placid, NY Mount Jo is a short but challenging hike. If you are looking to spend your time in the Adirondacks hiking and exploring the outdoors, it's an excellent warm up hike that also offers a good view of Heart Lake and the surrounding mountains.

  7. Bobsled and Luge Complex: Another one of Lake Placid’s many offerings is the Bobsled and Luge Complex . Here you have the chance to try Olympic level bobsledding (with a guide). This complex was an event center for the Bobsled at the 1980 Olympic Games.

  8. The Adirondack Experience, The Museum on Blue Mountain Lake: A large 23 building exhibit that covers the history of the Adirondacks but also has exhibits on local industry, crafts, a private rail car, and a rustic hotel. As the name suggests, it has a scenic view of Blue Mountain Lake.
