Music On The Oval

Join us on the Oval Lawn every Thursday beginning June 15th for live music. This year's performances will feature local talent and a wide range of genres including classical, jazz, blues, singer/songwriter, and pop. Each Thursday evening will have performances beginning at 6pm and ending at 8pm. Grab a picnic basket, and we'll see you on the lawn!

Thursday, June 15th at 6 & 7pm:  Melody Giron Cello Duo (classical, pop)

Melody Giron is accomplished an acclaimed cellist, having performed around the world for the better part of two decades. She has shared stages with Stevie Wonder and Ed Sheeran, performed in Edward Albee’s The Sandbox at the Signature Theatre Company, and has been featured in TV productions and commercials. Thursday, June 22nd at 6pm: CR Smith (singer/songwriter)

CR Smith is a singer-songwriter and New Jersey native who has honed his abilities playing throughout the tri-state area in bands of every genre and flavor. Having performed on NBC’s Jimmy Lloyd Songwriter Showcase, he released his passionate and contemplative EP “Christopher King” to much acclaim. Thursday, June 22nd at 7pm: Val Kinzler (singer/songwriter, blues)

Tiphanie Doucet is a singer, actress, dancer, and model. Originally from Paris, she has performed all over the world in stage, tv, and film. Her folk duo Tiphanie and Joe is influenced by Tristan Prettyman and Norah Jones, resulting in a subtle sound with beautifully understated passion. Singer-songwriter - and longtime StuyTown resident - Jeff Slate is an internationally know recording artist and writer. As a solo performer he has played all over the world, from St. George's Hall in Liverpool to Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco. Thursday, July 27th at 6 & 7pm: Diverse Concert Artists

Diverse Concert Artists are committed to changing the face of classical and crossover music through diversity. The musicians of DCA are highly trained professionals coming from the nations top music conservatories and universities including Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, NYU, Mannes, and more. Musicians have performed on the stages of Carnegie Hall, Royal Opera House of Muscat, Merkin Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Plaza and many more. Diverse Concert Artists perform a wide array of music from classical to the latest music on the top of the pop charts.

 

Thursday, August 3rd at 6pm: Jeff State

Rescheduled due to rain, singer-songwriter - and longtime StuyTown resident - Jeff Slate is an internationally know recording artist and writer. He has performed with Pete Townshend of The Who, Sheryl Crow and countless other rock luminaries. His band with David Bowie sideman Earl Slick, and his current band Jeff Slate & Friends, are both mainstays of the Northeast music scene. As a solo performer he has played all over the world, from St. George's Hall in Liverpool to Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco. His music has appeared on the BBC and in shows like Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill. Jeff also writes about music for Esquire, contributed liner notes to the 50th anniversary edition of The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and is the author of the forthcoming authorized Roy Orbison biography.
