Winter is coming. Well, the Winter Olympics at least! With the Opening Ceremony happening on February 6th, it’s time to start planning where to watch the games. Whether you want to watch hockey or ice skating, alpine skiing or luge, there’s plenty of places to watch in NYC. Here are a few of our favorites:
The Standard Biergarten
Watching the Winter Olympics at The Standard Biergarten is a classic West Village moment, with giant screens tuned to the Games, communal picnic tables full of cheers, and that infectious buzz of people rooting for their favorites. As the competitions unfold, you sip on cold German-style beers and inventive Olympic-inspired cocktails like the Olympic Flame Margarita or Team USA Martini, designed to make every medal moment taste even sweeter. Along with salty pretzels, sausages, and good company, it’s the perfect blend of sport and spirited drinks that turns viewing the Olympics into a proper celebration.
The Dram Shop Bar
Located in Park Slope, The Dram Shop Bar gives you big screens tuned to every event from skiing to skating while you can savor their wide selection of beers, draft pours, and classic cocktails alongside hearty Tex-Mex-inspired bar fare, in a laid-back, sports-friendly atmosphere. The bar opens early (around 11:30am) to show all your favorite winter sports with Happy Hour specials through the afternoon, so you can cheer on the competition with a cold pint or a refreshing frozen cocktail in hand and the buzz of fellow fans around you.
Rockefeller Center
For an Olympics one-stop-shop, head to Rockefeller Center. Center Plaza buzzes with Olympic-themed art and photo moments as part of NBC’s Legendary February activations, and 5 Acres Restaurant hosts a dedicated Olympic watch party where you can cheer on the Games live while enjoying special Olympics-inspired menu offerings. You can also browse Rockefeller’s gift shops for Olympic-themed merch and giveaways to commemorate your visit, from keepsakes to fun souvenirs, all while soaking up winter vibes and fanfare in one of New York’s most iconic outdoor settings.
KABIN
Weekdays at KABIN in Hudson Square, from Feb 6–22, will be full of Olympic fanfare, with the bar showing every Olympic event live on screens from about 10am – 4pm. The vibe is lively and communal as guests cheer on medal moments, especially for the Nordic teams, while sipping cocktails from KABIN’s creative menu and enjoying coffee or fun specials like a shotski during big wins. Plus, there are special Olympic-themed food and drink offerings alongside the usual Nordic-inspired fare, making it a spirited spot to catch the Games unfold in downtown Manhattan.
Mustang Harrys
Going to Mustang Harry’s in Midtown Manhattan during the Olympics means settling into one of the city’s classic two-floor sports bar spaces with 20+ HDTVs and premium surround sound while cheering on the Games alongside fellow fans. With plenty of screens tuned to Olympic events, you can enjoy their handcrafted game-day bites, craft beers, artisanal cocktails, and wide selection of spirits as the action unfolds, making every ski run, skating routine, and hockey match feel like a communal celebration.
Wilkas
NYC’s first women’s sports-focused bar, Wilka’s Sports Bar in Manhattan’s Bowery brings the Olympic vibe with a spirited, community energy perfect for cheering on the Games. As part of a series of Olympic watch parties hosted in partnership with the New York Sirens, Wilka’s streams key events - especially women’s hockey matchups - live on screens so fans can gather, celebrate, and root for their teams together. With signature cocktails, crisp beers, and game-day snacks in a bold, welcoming space designed for fans and newcomers alike, it’s a lively downtown spot to enjoy medal moments and connect with fellow sports lovers.
St. Pat’s Bar & Grill
St. Pat's Bar & Grill NYC in New York City for Olympics season is the kind of experience that blends the thrill of global sport with the electric vibe of a Midtown sports bar. Known for its energetic, friendly atmosphere and multiple large TVs scattered across its three floors, this classic Irish-style bar delivers great pub food, cold drinks, and plenty of space to soak up the action with fellow fans. Whether cheering for your country’s skiers or bobsledders, you’ll be surrounded by cheering crowds, spirited conversation, and the contagious excitement that comes with watching world-class competitions in a lively social setting. It’s an especially fun way to enjoy Olympic moments with friends or make new ones while sharing in the highs and lows of the games.
