We're all cooking from home more lately, so why not treat yourself to some sweet treats. Ditch the boxed mix in favor of delicious, gooey, chocolaty brownies. Not only does it taste better, the homemade brownies are easy enough to make for a weeknight dessert. Mmmm... Let's get started.
Ingredients
Recipe makes 9 large brownies (or 16 small brownies)
- ½ cup butter
- 2 oz unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- ½ tsp vanilla
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp salt
Instructions
-
Take butter and eggs out of the fridge and bring to room temperature.
-
Preheat your oven to 325F.
-
As your oven preheats, prepare an 8x8” pan. Spray the pan with non-stick cooking spray.
-
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and chocolate together over low heat. Stir to make sure it doesn't burn or boil.
-
Once melted, remove the pan from the heat and add in the sugar. Stir until fully combined.
-
Next, add in your (now room temp) eggs and vanilla, stir until smooth.
-
Lastly, add in your chocolate chips, flour, and salt. Stir until just combined.
-
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck into the very middle of the pan comes out clean (or with dry crumbs).
-
Let the brownies cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting. Delicious when served warm or cold. (Pro tip: serve with ice cream.)
